ANKARA, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- A passage plane which belongs to Turkey's Pegasus Airlines skidded off the runway of Trabzon airport Saturday and ended up halfway down a steep slope into the Black Sea, Turkish media reported on Sunday.

The Boeing 737-800 plane had flown from Ankara to the northeastern city of Trabzon. It lost control after landing and stuck in mud just meters away from the sea, with its head very close to the water.

No one was injured in the incident and all 162 passengers and six crew on board were evacuated, Trabzon Governor Yucel Yavuz said.

The cause of the incident was not known but an investigation is under way, the governor said.

Flights have resumed at the Trabzon International Airport on Sunday morning, after being temporarily suspended following the incident.
