SYDNEY, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Law enforcement in Sydney have seized more than 100 kg of methylamphetamine, also known as Ice, cocaine and MDMA, with an estimated street value of 33 million U.S. dollars.

New South Wales state police announced on Tuesday that the seizure was made by Strike Force Sharrock, a task force established in March by the state's Organised Crime Squad to investigate the importation and supply of prohibited drugs.

"Strike Force Sharrock is another example of the squad's continued dedication to tackling large-scale drug importation and supply, and we're not done yet," Organised Crime Squad Commander, detective acting superintendent Damian Beaufils said.

A 47-year-old man was arrested in Penrith, an outer suburb of Sydney early on Friday morning, and charged with three counts of large commercial drug supply.

After arresting the man, investigators searched a nearby home where they uncovered 85 kg of Ice, 13 kg of cocaine and 2 kg of MDMA.

"We will continue to investigate source of the drugs, which includes ongoing targeting of importation attempts, as well as those involved in the manufacture of illicit substances, both here and abroad," Beaufils said.
