SANTIAGO, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and ten injured in a truck explosion Thursday in Chile's capital, authorities said.

Among the injured, five people were severely wounded, the authorities further said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the accident occurred when gas leaked from the truck, leading to the explosion. The fire triggered by the explosion also spread to other vehicles on the highway and a nearby parking lot. ■
