BRASILIA, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called China Brazil's "best partner" on Thursday at the reopening of an automotive plant marking collaboration between Brazilian and Chinese companies in Brazil's Anapolis.

Speaking at the industrial park of Brazil's CAOA automotive conglomerate, Lula expressed confidence that Brazil's partnership with China will go from strength to strength, because China is Brazil's "best partner."

During the event, the production line for the Uni-T model, manufactured in partnership with Chinese automaker Changan, was launched. Lula praised the collaboration for bringing Chinese technology to Brazil and thanked the entrepreneurs involved.

Chinese official data shows that two-way trade between Brazil and China reached roughly 188 billion U.S. dollars in 2024, reaffirming China as Brazil's largest trading partner.

Lula added that Brazil's automotive sector is expected to receive 190 billion reals (about 36 billion U.S. dollars) in investments by 2033. ■
