TEHRAN, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Iran is finalizing preparations to carry out "deterrent operations" against military targets in Israel following "ceasefire violations" in Lebanon, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported Wednesday, citing a security and military source.

A two-week ceasefire was announced early Wednesday by the United States and Iran. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would comply with the truce but would continue military operations in Lebanon. ■
