SINGAPORE, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will visit Bali, Indonesia, from Oct. 10 to Oct. 11 to attend the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders' gathering.

According to a press release, the Prime Minister's Office issued here Wednesday, Lee will also participate in a moderated dialogue with the World Bank Group (WBG) President Jim Yong Kim at the WBG's Third Annual Human Capital Summit.

During the retreat, Lee and Indonesian President Joko Widodo will review the progress made in bilateral relations, discuss ways to deepen their cooperation and exchange views on regional and international developments.

They will also witness the signing of the Agreement between Singapore and Indonesia on the Promotion and Protection of Investments (Bilateral Investment Treaty); a bilateral cultural cooperation program in the fields of arts and heritage from 2019 to 2021 and a memorandum of understanding on financial technology cooperation.

At the ASEAN Leaders' gathering convened by Indonesia on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group, Lee, in Singapore's capacity as the 2018 ASEAN chair, will co-chair with Joko the discussions on the theme of "Achieving Sustainable Development Goals and Overcoming Development Gap through Regional and Global Collaborative Actions," said the press release.

The gathering will involve ASEAN Leaders, as well as heads of the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank Group.

Lee Hsien Loong will be accompanied by Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean on his trip.

During Lee's absence, Singapore's Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam will be the acting prime minister.
