BELGRADE, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Red Star was defeated by French Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 on Tuesday in the final round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions league, marking their final performance in this year's competition.

The match in the Group C of the Champions League started with a domination of guests in front of crowded Rajko Mitic Stadium.

PSG scored in 10th minute after Milan Pavkov lost the ball in midfield. Kylian Mbappe ran through Red Stars defenders and made an assist to Edinson Cavani who made an easy score.

Red Star's keeper Milan Borjan was defeated once again in the 40th minute, after another great move by Mbappe who sent the ball to Neymar, who dribbled the defense and gave French team the 2-0 lead.

Home team felt more awake in the second half and started creating their own chances. This gave results already in 56th minute, when Tiago Silva rerouted a long pass towards Marko Gobeljic who beat Gianluigi Buffon with a strong shot.

Hopes of tens of thousands of home fans that their team will perform a miracle and win to stay in the competition were crushed by Marquinhos who jumped and struck a high ball towards goal to beat Borjan once again.

Mbappe set the final score in final seconds of the match.

PSG ended this stage of the competition as the group leader with 11 points, while Red Star is last ranked with four points.
