YANGON, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Overcoming domestic and international challenges in its development, China has made great achievements and its state governance experience is worth learning, a senior Myanmar political analyst has said.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, U Ko Ko Hlaing, chairman of Myanmar's Center for Strategic and International Studies and a former presidential political advisor, hailed China's achievements and Chinese President Xi Jinping's books on governance as inspiring.

With a strong interest in China, he has since 1997 paid many visits to and read a lot about China, he said, adding that China's impressive rapid development has directed his attention to its state governance experience.

In particular, the books "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China", which he helped translate into the Myanmar language, provide an important way for him to understand China's success in recent years, said U Ko Ko Hlaing.

"We can learn about what reforms China has made and how to implement them in the fields of politics, economy, international relations, society, science and technology and environmental protection in the book," U Ko Ko Hlaing said.

Countries including Myanmar can also find in the books a wealth of experience worth learning, he added.

As Myanmar and China are neighbors, "the more we know about China, the better we will be able to improve relations with China," said the former presidential political advisor.

U Ko Ko Hlaing noted that both the Myanmar and Chinese cultures are focused on community, social development and peace, and their similar values have helped sustain the traditional good-neighborliness and friendship between the two countries.

U Ko Ko Hlaing added he is willing to do more translation work in order to promote bilateral relations.

Strengthening mutual understanding and mutual learning among different civilizations, is also in line with Xi's vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, U Ko Ko Hlaing noted.
